Bishop Bryan: A Prayer on Moving Day

As I pray for those pastors/churches receiving new appointments and for those who are continuing in their current appointment, I invite you to join me in meditating on this scripture and in praying the following prayer:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

God of Love, You are with us in every transition and change. As we enter into this new day with excitement and even some anxiety, we remember that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in every moment.

Enable us in this moment to be still and know that You are God. We thank You for the experiences that have brought us to this moment. Looking back over the years we cannot shake the feeling that we have been led. Help us to grow new spiritual muscles as we live daily in the confidence that Your Holy Spirit is at work to guide us. We praise You for the work of others that gives breadth and depth to our own. Bless those who have prepared the way for us. May we recognize the presence of Jesus in the new experiences of the coming days. Be with us as we move forward, rejoicing with You and supporting one another.

We ask this in Your Holy Name.  Amen.

Thank you for your faithfulness to Christ and to His Church.  May we stretch out our hands to receive all that God wants to give us in this new conference year.

Alive Together in the World—stretching,

Lawson Bryan
